This wedding makes my heart so happy. One of my favorite venues, favorite places, favorite couples… the list goes on. Braelynn & Cody are two of the sweetest, most genuine, happiest, most loving people that I’ve ever met and had the honor of photographing. Their excitement to finally marry each other shines through the photographs and I’m so lucky to call them friends after spending such a remarkable weekend with them in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Brae first found me on Instagram and after our first phone call, we both knew that we’d be fast friends. They came out to visit LA from Utah to take their engagement photos, which you can see here, and all of us instantly bonded. These two are so welcoming and loving that it’s hard not to be immediate friends with them! Our session ended with us exchanging travel stories over Chinese food and all of us ready to pack our bags and head to Cabo for their wedding.
The Grand Solmar Resort is seriously one of my favorite places ever. Upon arriving, you are welcomed with a cocktail and this overwhelming feeling of relaxation. I photographed Danielle & Travis’ wedding this same time the year before and I hope to make this an annual reunion because I’m already having withdrawals.
After an emotional rehearsal dinner filled with toasts, Brae & Cody’s wedding day was finally here. Brae’s first look with her bridesmaids and her dad were two of the most emotional moments I’ve ever witnessed and the day continued with laughter, tears of joy and pure love. Their ceremony took place at the Grand Solmar gazebo, which is tucked away amongst the breathtaking boulders of Cabo.
With the ocean crashing up against the rocks, Brae & Cody kissed for the first time as husband and wife and all of their family and friends erupted with cheers and shook their maracas. A mariachi band kicked off their reception and the rest of the night was filled with dancing, toasts, and an epic playlist. The night ended with everyone lighting Chinese lanterns and making wishes for the new couple as they sent them off over the ocean. I was almost set on fire a few times thanks to the strong coastal winds that night but it was well worth it and too much fun!! I’ll always remember this weekend thanks to the adventures, new friends and heart-warming moments.
